ORGANIC FOOD

A food certification that is recognized by the GFSI can help food manufacturers and processors to ensure food safety, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, improve customer confidence, reduce risks and costs, and access new market.

ISO 22000 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for a food safety management system that can be applied to any organization in the food chain. FSSC 22000 is a food safety scheme that is based on ISO 22000, but also includes additional requirements for prerequisite programs (PPR) and sector-specific technical specifications. FSSC 22000 is approved by the GFSI, while ISO 22000 is not.

Some of the food certification types that facilitate entry into certain markets are: IFS Food, BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, SQF (Safe Quality Food) Program, and BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) Certification . These certifications are based on different standards and criteria, but they all aim to ensure food quality and safety throughout the supply chain. They are also recognized by the GFSI and accepted by many retailers and buyers in different regions.
